Biography:

Dr. Marjohn V. Anislag is an Associate Professor in the Agroforestry Department at Surigao del Norte State University. He is an international research evaluator and keynote speaker, with numerous publications in Scopus- and Web of Science-indexed journals. Born in Libas Gua, San Miguel, Surigao del Sur, Philippines, he developed an early passion for agroforestry and environmental sustainability. He earned his BS in Agroforestry (2015), MS in Agroforestry (2019, CHED scholar), and PhD in Forestry, specializing in Forest Biological Sciences, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. His doctoral research examined the ecophysiology of honok, a conservation species thriving in nickel-rich soils, contributing valuable insights to restoration strategies in mining-impacted ecosystems. Dr. Anislag is an active member of ISSAAS and various professional groups. Outside academia, he enjoys hiking, swimming, and traveling, reflecting his commitment to nature and environmental stewardship.
