It is an honour and pleasure to write a few welcome notes. The climate emergency is nowadays the global and worst problem of the planet. Here in the Mediterranean, where the congress Enviworld takes place, the situation is dramatic, with constant extreme temperatures in summer, sea warming and floodings in autumn. From my research area, the Communication, we decided to apply some actions to empower young people to be aware, proactive and propose resilient actions to have local solutions to this crisis. It will be a pleasure explain this research, share opinions and establish new connections to, altogether and from different perspectives, try to fight the climate emergency.

Dear colleagues and fellow researchers,

It is a great pleasure to join you at EnviWorld-2027 and to contribute to this international forum dedicated to innovative and sustainable environmental solutions. In my keynote, I will explore how waste-derived aggregates, including materials produced from construction and demolition waste, water treatment sludge and waste-based geopolymers, can be transformed into functional media for nature-based water treatment solutions.

These materials may support the treatment of diverse water matrices, from wastewater, greywater and landfill leachate to polluted surface water, groundwater, industrial effluents, rainwater and stormwater. Beyond pollutant removal, their use creates an important connection between waste valorisation, water reuse, circular economy and low-energy infrastructure.

I look forward to sharing research developments, practical examples and future challenges, and to discussing how these approaches can contribute to more resilient, resource-efficient and sustainable water management systems.

I look forward to sharing our research on modeling disaster losses and volatility while learning from the diverse perspectives represented across the conference’s scientific sessions. As a Member of the Organizing Committee of EnviWorld 2027, scheduled to be held from June 21–23, 2027, in Rome, Italy, a symbol of Italian and Latin history and claiming academic fame and much, much more, let me take this opportunity to welcome you to this important Event.

The Conference is becoming the leading annual conference in fields related to Environmental Science & Engineering, and covering subareas of environmental protection and risk assessment, environmental sustainability and development, ecology-related health issues, and others.

The strategic goal of this Conference is to gather scholars from all over the world to present advances in the relevant fields and to foster an environment conducive to exchanging ideas and information, whilst building on generating unique solutions to the field’s challenges. This conference creates a new platform to jointly generate new discussions for a common and better science in the future – this conference stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to fostering a dynamic ecosystem where diverse voices are amplified, innovative solutions are celebrated, and meaningful partnerships are forged.

Meanwhile, population and planetary global health is determined by the interaction of our environment with the genotype and phenotype. There is no doubt that the public health environment is changing, and a life course approach will require even more from health promoters.

Leading academicians, well-known researchers, recognized practitioners, brilliant public health professionals and health care specialists, health care workers, health economists, policy makers, and other related professionals are welcome to share their basic knowledge and personal experiences in the field of upgraded Public Health and affiliated sectors. Through talks, workshops, and group discussions, the goal is to create real change in the world. People will leave with new ideas, helpful tools, and meaningful friendships that will support their work long after the event ends.
