Biography:
GHEORGHE GRIGORAȘ is a Full Professor and Director of the Council for Doctoral University Studies at the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Energetics and Applied Informatics, Romania. He is an Associate Member of the Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania. As a PhD supervisor in the field of Power Engineering, he currently mentors 8 doctoral students. He is also the Head of the “Availability of Energy Systems Supplied from Renewable Sources” Research Laboratory within the Power System Department, Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi. His research has resulted in 17 books, 15 book chapters, and more than 300 articles. He has coordinated 3 national research projects, served as a key person in 5 others, participated as a team member in 14 research contracts with industrial partners, and filed 2 patent applications. His primary research focus is the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques in power systems control and supervision (including load modeling, power quality, energy efficiency enhancement in electrical networks, optimal integration of renewable energy sources, and smart grids). Professor Grigoraș is an Editor for Scientific Reports (Springer Nature) and a Topic Editor for two journals indexed by WoS (Mathematics – ISSN: 2227-7390 and Applied Sciences – ISSN: 2076-3417). He has also served as a Guest Editor for six Special Issues in peer-reviewed WoS-indexed journals.
He has been the General Chair for 12 international conferences, General Co-Chair for 4, Technical Program Chair for 3, and a member of over 300 Technical Program Committees for international symposia and conferences held across Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, and Africa. Furthermore, he serves on the Advisory Board of the American Society for Engineering Education and is a member of both the International Association of Engineers and the World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology.
