Biography:
Tongqian Zhang Awarded his Ph.D. from China University of Mining and Technology, Beijing, with a specialization in Eco-functional Materials. Engaged in research on high-efficiency atmospheric water harvesting materials and self-regulating water-conducting materials with adjustable infiltration rates, in the context of water-scarce regions or environments. The smart water-conduction material played a key role in desertification reclaim in China by regulating irrigation infiltration rates to ensure plant survival with minimal water usage. Additionally, the unique climate of desertified areas is utilized to plant medicinal herbs during greening efforts, simultaneously achieving water savings, vegetation restoration, and economic gains.
