Biography:

Dr. T. Patarkalashvili received his M.Sc. from the Agricultural University of Georgia, Faculty of Forestry, where he studied from 1962 to 1967. From 1976 to 1980, he studied at the Tbilisi Institute of Foreign Languages, Faculty of English Language, and obtained an M.Ed. He received his Doctor of Science (Dr.Sc.) degree in 1979. His professional career began at the Ministry of Forestry of Georgia, where he worked as an Engineer from 1968 to 1970. From 1970 to 1973, he pursued postgraduate studies at the Tbilisi Forest Institute. Between 1973 and 1980, he worked as a Junior Researcher and subsequently as a Senior Researcher at the Tbilisi Forest Institute. Since 1980, he has been working as a Senior Researcher at the Technical University of Georgia, Center for Studying Productive Forces and Natural Resources of Georgia. Dr. Patarkalashvili is the author of 87 manuscripts and 18 books, including monographs co-authored with other researchers. He has served as an editorial board member of several international journals, including International Journal of Biodiversity and Endangered Species (Gavin Publishers), Modern Concepts & Developments in Agronomy (Crimson Publishers), JOJ Sciences (Juniper Publishers), Current Trends in Forest Research (Gavin Publishers), Journal of Plant Science: Current Research (Herald Scholarly Open Access), and Current Investigations in Agriculture and Current Research (Lupine Publishers). He has also served as a reviewer for journals including Annals of Agrarian Science (Elsevier), American Journal of Agriculture and Forestry (Science PG), Journal of Ecology and Natural Environment (Academic Journals), and Anthropology Open Access (Gavin Publishers). His research interests include sustainable management of mountain forests, the causes and drivers of deforestation and forest degradation, plant biodiversity and endangered species, and ecological problems.
