Biography:
Santu Chatterjee is a PhD Scholar in the Department of Earth and Environmental Studies at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, West Bengal, India, under the supervision of Prof. Kalyan Adhikari. He holds an M.Sc. Tech in Applied Geology from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Geology. His research focuses on groundwater hydrogeochemistry, nitrate contamination, groundwater quality, contaminant transport, and natural attenuation processes. His current research integrates field-based hydrochemical investigations with laboratory soil-column and soil-tank experiments to understand nitrate dynamics and groundwater security in agriculturally intensive regions.
