Biography:
Minoo Salimi is a cultural anthropologist who is an assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Tehran.Her main research interests are in the anthropology of disasters. She has conducted research on climate change and people's resilience to it, and the role of indigenous and local communities. In her opinion, in the Middle East and Iran, the lack of attention to the role of local communities in addressing climate change and improper interventions have intensified environmental crises and diminished the agency of indigenous people in confronting climate change. This has increased vulnerability in society and reduced resilience.
