Biography:
Astrid Ruiz is an emerging researcher at the Technological University of Panama. She is currently a Research Assistant in the Forest Hydrology and Urban Waters Research Group. Her most notable achievement is being the Principal Investigator of her thesis project on the evaluation of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) for flood risk reduction, which has competitive funding from SENACYT. She has a solid technical background in water cycle management, 3D modeling (SketchUP and Autocad), and water quality assessment. Her profile is further strengthened by her scientific writing and presentations at conferences such as the IX IESTEC, projecting her as a promising Panamanian scientist.
