Biography:
Antonio Albuquerque is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Beira Interior, Covilha, Portugal, and a senior researcher at the GeoBioTec research unit. He is also Director of the PhD Programme in Environmental Sustainability and Resilience of Cities and Territories. With more than 35 years of academic, research and professional experience, his work covers drinking-water treatment and supply, wastewater collection, treatment and reuse, rainwater and stormwater management, integrated water management in urban and rural areas, nature-based treatment systems, and the valorisation of mineral, construction and industrial residues. He is the author or co-author of more than 400 publications, including books, patents, book chapters, journal articles, conference papers, technical standards, manuals, technical reports and academic materials.
